About Ashford Academy

Ashford Academy is a new child care and preschool in Schaumburg, owned by a local family and opening its doors to founding families this year.

We started Ashford after touring centers for our own family and noticing the same thing everywhere: the people who set the standards were somewhere else. We wanted a place where the owners open the door in the morning, know every child by name, and answer the phone themselves.

The building was set up for young children from the beginning. Infants have their own wing with a separate sleep room. Toddlers and preschoolers have low shelves, child-height sinks and their own fenced playground. Every room has natural light.

Rooted in Excellence is the standard we hold ourselves to: for safety, for teaching, and for how we treat the families who trust us with their children.

Aman Singh

I live in Schaumburg, and I started Ashford Academy after touring child care centers for our own family. The places that impressed me most were the ones where the owners were in the building and knew every child by name, so that is the kind of place we built.

You will usually find me at the front door in the morning. If something is not right, I want to hear about it from you directly.

Co-owner

I am Aman's wife and co-owner of Ashford Academy. This is where I will introduce myself: my background, what I look after day to day at the academy, and why Ashford matters to our family.

Academy Director

Our director holds an Illinois DCFS director qualification and runs the academy day to day: the teachers, the classrooms, the lesson plans and the daily conversations with parents. The director is the person who calls you if your child is unwell or hurt.

What Owner-Run Means Day to Day

Owned and run by a Schaumburg family

Aman and the Ashford team are in the building every day. When you have a question about your child, you talk to the people who make the decisions, not a regional office.

A written plan for every age

Each classroom follows a weekly lesson plan built around language, early math, motor skills and social growth. Your child's teacher keeps a portfolio you will see at conferences twice a year.

You will know how the day went

Photos, meals, naps and notes arrive in our parent app during the day. Teachers are at the door at pickup, and the director answers the phone.

Safe by design

One monitored entrance with keypad codes, photo ID for anyone not on your pickup list, and staff who are background checked and CPR certified before their first day.

Classrooms built for small children

Natural light, low shelves, child-height sinks, a separate sleep room for infants, and materials chosen for each age group.

Small enough to know every family

We keep enrollment small so the director knows every child by name and every parent by schedule.
